Jon Paul Wilson - Crashing Waves 3 - Original Painting

‘Crashing waves 3’ is painted in a more expressive, impressionistic style of painting compared to Jon Paul's normal more rigid way of painting. He used a range of filbert, flat and fan brushes to create a dynamic wave crashing on the rocks and achieved realistic colours using a prismatic colour palette to recreate the moment.

The evening sunlight here is highlighting rich green hues, the white foam and contrasts with the violet shaded sea in the foreground to create a more dramatic painting.

Painted with thick wet on wet oils to create luminous colours, this work comes mounted on stretcher bars, ready for hanging or framing.
